Indian Law Institute (ILI) is a high standard deemed university and law research Institute that is found in New Delhi and was founded in 1956. It is NAAC accredited with recognition under the UGC. It is also known to be the pioneer of legal research, law education, and law reforms in India. The institute is always ranked as one of the best law schools in general rankings like NIRF. ILI provides Post Graduate (LLM and Ph.D.) and various Post Graduate Diploma courses (e.g. Course in Cyber Law, Course in IPR, Course in Labour Law) and certificate courses. LLM needs LLB and has 50% or more marks and entry through ILICAT and viva. PhD demands an LLM of 55 per cent, and choice by ILICAT/UGC JRF/NET, and interview. Selections are done based on merit and a graduation degree is needed to get a PG Diploma.

ILI offers entrance-based admissions to LLM and doctoral programs, and an applicant must pass the ILICAT examination, after which a viva or research proposal is given. PG Diploma and certificate courses are merit based. It is the online application procedure and applicants must complete an electronic form after registering on the site, submitting documents, and paying the application fee. Shortlisted applicants are supposed to produce original documents and pay the required fee to affirm admission. Applicants of PhD will have the provision of exemptions to entrance tests and the final admission is a result of affirmation of eligibility and delivery of requested documents at the appropriate time.
