Essential highlights of Army Institute of Law
Army Institute of Law, Mohali, or AIL, is a specialised law college dedicated to producing skilled legal professionals. It was established in 1999 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES). It is affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala, and approved by the Bar Council of India. The institute primarily serves wards of Army personnel but also admits a limited number of civilian students. Its location in Sector 68, Mohali, provides a quiet and secure academic environment.
AIL offers a 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program and a 1-year LL.M. program in law. Students learn through a mix of classroom teaching, moot court sessions, legal research, and internships with law firms and courts. The campus includes a moot court hall, a library with law journals and e-resources, computer labs, separate hostels, and sports facilities. Regular seminars, guest lectures by judges and lawyers, and placement support ensure that graduates are ready for careers in litigation, corporate law, and public service.
