Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), established in 1992, is a state public university based in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand. Carved out of Ranchi University by the Bihar Universities Act, it offers a wide spectrum of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes, encompassing Physical, Life, Earth, Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, Technology, Medical sciences including law, Ayurveda, and Homeopathy. It currently administers 22 postgraduate departments, maintains 20 constituent and 61 affiliated colleges across five districts, and annually awards degrees to over 4,000 general, 900 B.Tech, 500 postgraduate, and more than 400 Ph.D. candidates.
