Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) is a university which was established in 1999 by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir as a Public University located in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. Established over a vast 470 acre-residentially based campus, SMVDU is approved by UGC, AIU, CIC, AICTE and COA and also has NAAC accreditation. The university has over 15 schools listed under four faculties and 26 undergraduate, postgraduate, integrated and doctoral programs across engineering, architecture, management, sciences, humanities, and nursing.

SMVDU also provides a wide variety of programs such as the B.Tech, B.Arch, BBA, B.Sc, B.A, B.Des, MBA, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.A, and PhD. The admission is done under the entrance exams such as JEE Main, NATA, CUET, GATE, CAT, and MAT and then counseling is conducted.

UG, PG, and PhD admission in SMVDU 2025 are open. In case of BTech and BArch, aspirants will be required to write the JEE Main exam or NATA and attend the university/state counseling (JoSAA/SMVDU counseling). Most UG programs (BSc, BA, BBA) are entered in with CUET-UG. CAT, MAT, CMAT, or GATE scores or CUET-PG; all should be qualified by MBA, MTech or MSc applicants.
