MIT Chennai Admissions 2026

Admission to the undergraduate (B.E./B.Tech) programs at MIT Chennai is based on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) process, conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu. There is no separate entrance exam for admission; instead, selection is done based on the Class 12 board exam marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students must register on the official TNEA portal, after which a merit list is prepared, and seat allotment happens through centralised counselling.

For postgraduate (M.E./M.Tech) admissions, candidates need to qualify through TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) or GATE. Admission is granted through counselling conducted by Anna University. The eligibility requires a relevant bachelor's degree in engineering or technology. MIT Chennai also offers Ph.D. programs, for which admission is based on Anna University guidelines, written tests, and interviews.
