Admission is primarily through the GGSIPU Common Entrance Test (CET), with remaining seats filled via CUET merit if needed. Alternatively, the institute conducts its own JIMS Entrance Test (JET) , a 2‑hour assessment covering English, Quantitative Ability, General Knowledge & Current Affairs followed by a personal interview. For specialized courses like Interior Design and Journalism & Mass Communication, admissions include a Design Aptitude Test and media-writing evaluation, respectively. Qualified candidates of IPU‑CET, UGAT, MAT, or DART may be exempt from JET and need only attend the interview phase.
