The Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), established in November 2005 by Act No. XVIII of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislature, began teaching in July 2006 in Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir. Nestled on a 205‑acre Himalayan‑fringed campus along the Jhelum River, IUST has earned recognition from the UGC under Sections 2(f) & 12(b), AICTE‑approval for technical and nursing programs, NAAC accreditation (Grade B+, certificate issued 2022), and membership in AIU. It holds accreditations for B.Tech (Civil, CSE, ECE, Electrical, Food Technology), MBA, MCA, along with INC approval for nursing.
