Essential highlights of ITNU
The Institute of Technology Nirma University also known as ITNU and was established in 1995 by the Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF), is one of Gujarat’s pioneering self-financed engineering institutes. It offers academic programs including B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, and PhD across various engineering disciplines. The institute follows a learner-centric, Outcome-Based Education (OBE) model with a curriculum that encourages interdisciplinary learning and continuous evaluation. All its undergraduate engineering programs are NBA Tier-I accredited, and Nirma University as a whole received NAAC A+ accreditation in 2022. ITNU consistently ranks among the top 15 self-financed engineering colleges in India and is placed in the 101–150 band in the NIRF rankings.
It has achieved significant recognition through various student-led accomplishments such as Team Arrow’s success in the Drone Development Challenge 2025, Team Dyaus ranking 9th at Teknofest 2024 in Turkey, and a decade of national wins by the Robocon team, along with several international accolades. Students have also earned awards in competitions like SAE E‑BAJA, Formula Bharat, Mitsubishi Cup, and more. The institute has strong collaborations with industry leaders such as NVIDIA, IBM, L&T, TCS iON, Bosch, and with international universities including Arizona State, Carleton, and Curtin University, as well as research bodies like ISRO and CSIR.
Its state-of-the-art facilities include a robotic lab, a supercomputing center (Param Shavak), specialized labs for thermal, structural, instrumentation, and automation studies, and an IDEA Lab that supports innovation and entrepreneurship with funding and mentorship. Financial assistance is provided through merit-based scholarships (up to ₹1 lakh/year), need-based aid, interest-free loans, and alumni-funded support. Postgraduate and doctoral students benefit from GATE stipends and UGC-approved fellowships, while international scholarships, like those from ISA USA, also recognize student excellence.
