Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, a leading deemed-to-be university in Haridwar, Uttarakhand was established in 1902. Swami Shraddhanandaji established it to revive the ancient Indian system of Gurukula and to popularize indigenous education. The UGC and Government of India have fully funded the university and it gains NAAC A grade of accreditation, as well as UGC and AICTE approval. It has more than 7,000 students and its vast campus encompasses three major campuses which are divided into men and women categories. GKV Haridwar provides diverse undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctorate courses in engineering, sciences, pharmacy, management, humanities and Vedic studies.

GKV Haridwar has a wide range of courses in undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctoral level in engineering, pharmacy, sciences, management, humanities and Vedic studies. The mode of entry is through admissions, which are an entrance-based program in B.Tech via JEE Main and JoSAA and other programs based on CUET or university entrance exams.

Admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and doctorate classes in GKV Haridwar is done on the basis of national and university entrance examinations. Admission to B.Tech is through JEE Main with JoSAA/ CSAB counseling. Most other UG and PG courses use either CUET or university level entrance. MBA candidates must have authentic CAT, MAT, or CMAT markings. Applications are made online, including submission of personal, academic and uploading of documents, and payment of the application fee. Shortlisted candidates are summoned to counselling, verification of documents and payment of fees.
