Most B.Tech programmes follow a similar pattern: the first year builds the foundations (mathematics, science and programming), the middle years go deep into the subject, and the final year is given over to electives, a major project and usually an internship.

Here that means electrical machines, power systems, control systems and power electronics. Typical first jobs: electrical engineer in power, manufacturing, electric-vehicle or utility companies. Many graduates also go on to a master's degree.

The exact syllabus is set by the college or its affiliating university and changes from year to year, so ask CGC Jhanjeri for the current semester-wise plan.

Here is how the fee on record breaks down. Fees are for the whole course unless marked otherwise, and apply to B.Tech programmes at CGC Jhanjeri as a group.

Colleges revise fees most years, and hostel, transport and exam charges are often billed separately. Confirm the current figure with CGC Jhanjeri before you pay anything.

To be considered for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, you usually need Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics, plus Chemistry, Computer Science or another technical subject; most colleges ask for roughly 45–60% in these subjects.

Admission to this kind of course is usually through JEE Main and state engineering entrance exams. Reserved-category candidates generally get a relaxation in the minimum marks. Check CGC Jhanjeri's prospectus for the exact cut-off this year.
