Most B.Sc programmes follow a similar pattern: the first year builds the foundations (mathematics, science and programming), the middle years go deep into the subject, and the final year is given over to electives, a major project and usually an internship.

Here that means software development, databases, web technologies and networking, with more weight on applying computing to business systems. Typical first jobs: software developer, IT consultant, network or systems administrator. Many graduates also go on to a master's degree.

The exact syllabus is set by the college or its affiliating university and changes from year to year, so ask SMU Online for the current semester-wise plan.

SMU Online has not published a fee for Discontinued (Nov 2023)- B.Sc. in Information Technology on our record yet. When you ask, ask for the total across all 3 years — not just the first-year figure — and whether hostel and exam fees are included.
