B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence at SVNIT Surat

If you are looking at B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence, SVNIT Surat in Surat runs it as a 4-year, full-time undergraduate course. The intake is 120 seats a year. The total fee on record is ₹7.7 lakh – ₹9.1 lakh, which works out to about ₹1.93 lakh a year.

At its core, the programme covers how machines learn from data: programming in Python, probability and statistics, machine learning, neural networks, computer vision and natural language processing, with projects on real datasets.

SVNIT Surat is a public/government institute, founded in 1961. This page brings together what is on record for this course at SVNIT Surat — fees, seats, eligibility, the admission route and placements — so you can judge it before you apply.

Most B.Tech programmes follow a similar pattern: the first year builds the foundations (mathematics, science and programming), the middle years go deep into the subject, and the final year is given over to electives, a major project and usually an internship.

Here that means how machines learn from data: programming in Python, probability and statistics, machine learning, neural networks, computer vision and natural language processing, with projects on real datasets. Typical first jobs: machine learning engineer, AI developer, data scientist or research engineer. Many graduates also go on to a master's degree.

The exact syllabus is set by the college or its affiliating university and changes from year to year, so ask SVNIT Surat for the current semester-wise plan.

Here is how the fee on record breaks down. Fees are for the whole course unless marked otherwise, and apply to B.Tech programmes at SVNIT Surat as a group.

Colleges revise fees most years, and hostel, transport and exam charges are often billed separately. Confirm the current figure with SVNIT Surat before you pay anything.

To be considered for B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence, you usually need Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics, plus Chemistry, Computer Science or another technical subject; most colleges ask for roughly 45–60% in these subjects. The minimum marks on record at SVNIT Surat are: X: 0.0, XII: 75.0, Graduation: 0.0.

Admission to this kind of course is usually through JEE Main and state engineering entrance exams. Reserved-category candidates generally get a relaxation in the minimum marks. Check SVNIT Surat's prospectus for the exact cut-off this year.
