The GATE 2026 registration period has been started by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati on Thursday, August 28, 2025. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2026) application is available at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.com. Additionally, to apply for GATE 2026, candidates must enter their enrollment ID and password.
Candidates may only apply for GATE 2026 if they are enrolled in or have completed a degree program in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce, arts, or humanities from an accredited institution, or if they are in their third or higher year of study. Therefore, individuals may apply for the exam if they have completed or are currently enrolled in one of these qualified degree programs abroad.
According to the updated timetable, September 28, 2025, is the deadline for applying for GATE 2026 without incurring a late charge. Similarly, the late fee registration period ends on October 9, 2025.
The GATE 2026 application fee is ₹1,000 per paper in the regular period and ₹1,500 per paper during the extended period for Female/SC/ST/PwD applicants. While the application fees for all other candidates is ₹2,500 for the extended time and ₹2,000 for each exam paper during the regular session.
Meanwhile, the dates of GATE 2026 are February 7, 8, 14, 15, and 2026. The results will be made public on March 19, 2026.
